Saturday, June 10 – Flight Lima – Cusco

Ancient Inca City – overnight in Cusco

 Personal notes:

The from Lima to Cusco in the morning was cancelled by the Peruvian Airline that was the first news we heard at the airport. Later on the news was that with the 6 of us we were able to fly to Cusco. So the group was separated. The others were offered meals and a hotel for the night and an early flight in the morning to arrive in Cusco on June 11 breakfast time.

We were lucky to have 1 member of the group that flew to Cusco with us who spoke basic Spanish. She was handed over the Hotel vouchers and a tourist ticket voucher for each of us. Along with this there was a local guide and bus plus chauffeur to pick us up at the Airport.

Cusco Boleto Turistico

Admission to many of the most popular places of interest in Cusco can only be made using a ‘Tourist Ticket’ (Boleto Turistico). This ticket allows you entrance to many sites in and around Cusco and costs 130 Peruvian Soles (approx US$48) and 70 Peruvian Soles for students with an ISIC card (approx US$26). The ticket is valid for 10 days and can be bought at the COSITUC office at Avenida Sol 103 office 102 (Mon-Fri 8am-6.30pm , Sat 8am-2pm) or at any of the sites included on the ticket above. (just in case you were wondering COSITUC stands for Comite de Servicios Integrados Turistico Culturales Cusco)

In the early evening we arrived at Cusco. There was a festival going on which lasted many days for the upcoming Solstice on June 20. The Hotel Royal Inka 1, in colonial style is amazing. See also  a good place to stay but very confusing to find your room. Once I figured out the easiest route to find the room everything was okay. I was a bit dizzy from the high altitude here but after a nice cup of tea it settled down a bit. In the evening you can still hear the festival activities going on.

In the evening we went to have dinner in The Greens Restaurant, Santa Catalina Angosta, 135, Cusco, Peru. Fantastic vegetarian food and I had a special Asperger dish. When we returned we all went to have a good night sleep seeing we were up very early in the morning to catch a plane in Lima plus all the waiting at the Airport.

The Greens

The festival and music continued in the plaza in front of us plus in the street. Although after 15 minutes and a meditation I no longer heard them. In the second week of June – Cusquena International Beer and Music Festival. Lively, with big Latin pop and jazz names.

City walk Cusco

Cusco, often spelled Cuzco (Spanish: Cuzco, Quechua Qusqu or Qosqo, is a city in southeastern Peru, near the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range. It is the capital of the Cusco Region as well as the Cusco Province. In 2013, the city had a population of 435,114. Located on the eastern end of the Knot of Cuzco, its elevation is around 3,400 m (11,200 ft).

The site was the historic capital of the Inca Empire. from the 13th until the 16th century Spanish conquest. In 1983 Cusco was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It has become a major tourist destination, hosting nearly 2 million visitors a year. The Constitution of Peru designates it as the Historical Capital of Peru.

Killke culture

The Killke people occupied the region from 900 to 1200, prior to the arrival of the Inca in the 13th century. Carbon-14 dating of Saksaywaman, the walled complex outside Cusco, established that Killke constructed the fortress about 1100. The Inca later expanded and occupied the complex in the 13th century. On 13 March 2008, archaeologists discovered the ruins of an ancient temple, roadway and aqueduct system at Saksaywaman. The temple covers some 2,700 square feet (250 square meters) and contains 11 rooms thought to have held idols and mummies, establishing its religious purpose. Together with the results of excavations in 2007, when another temple was found at the edge of the fortress, this indicates a longtime religious as well as military use of the facility.

Inca history

Cusco was long an important center of indigenous peoples. It was the capital of the Inca Empire (13th century-1532). Many believe that the city was planned as an effigy in the shape of a puma, a sacred animal. How Cusco was specifically built, or how its large stones were quarried and transported to the site remain undetermined. Under the Inca, the city had two sectors: the urin and hanan. Each was divided to encompass two of the four provinces, Chinchasuyu (NW), Antisuyu (NE), Kuntisuyu (SW) and Qullasuyu (SE). A road led from each of quarter to the corresponding quarter of the empire.

Each local leader was required to build a house in the city and live part of the year in Cusco, restricted to the quarter that corresponded to the quarter in which he held territory. After the rule of Pachacuti, when an Inca died, his title went to one son and his property was given to a corporation controlled by his other relatives (split inheritance). Each title holder had to build a new house and add new lands to the empire, in order to own land for his family to keep after his death.

According to Inca legend, the city was rebuilt by Sapa Inca Pachacuti, the man who transformed the Kingdom of Cuzco from a sleepy city-state into the vast empire of Tawantinsuyu. Archaeological evidence, however, points to a slower, more organic growth of the city beginning before Pachacuti. The city was constructed according to a definite plan in which two rivers were channeled around the city. Archaeologists have suggested that this city plan was replicated at other sites.

The city fell to the sphere of Huascar during the Inca Civil War after the death of Huayna Capac in 1527. It was captured by the generals of Atahualpa in April 1532 in the Battle of Quipaipan. Nineteen months later, Spanish explorers invaded the city and gained control because of their arms and horses, employing superior military technology.

A major earthquake on 21 May 1950 caused the destruction of more than one third of the city’s structures. The Dominican Priory and Church of Santo Domingo, which were built on top of the impressive Qurikancha (Temple of the Sun), were among the affected colonial era buildings. Inca architecture withstood the earthquake. Many of the old Inca walls were at first thought to have been lost after the earthquake, but the granite retaining walls of the Qurikancha were exposed, as well as those of other ancient structures throughout the city.

Restoration work at the Santo Domingo complex exposed the Inca masonry formerly obscured by the superstructure without compromising the integrity of the colonial heritage. Many of the buildings damaged in 1950 had been impacted by an earthquake only nine years previously.

Since the 1990s, tourism has increased. Currently, Cusco is the most important tourist destination in Peru. Under the administration of mayor Daniel Estrada Pérez, a staunch supporter of the Academia Mayor de la Lengua Quechua, between 1983 and 1995 the Quecha name Qosqo was officially adopted for the city.

June 6 – Daily review of a Journey within Peru

Tuesday, June 6 still overnight in Pisco yet travelling during the day to Ballestas Islands and Tambo Colorado

Personal notes:

At Hotel Emancipador, Pisco I first spent the morning with Yoga exercising with roommate Els on the beach. After this we had our breakfast. Arthur did a layout with the Arthurian Tarot for the group to prepare the energy flow for the day.

IMG_1823 Some how or other a miscommunication occurred whereby instead of early in the morning we went later in the morning to the Ballestas Island. The group was split up into three connections. One group with the Upper World of the Birds, another group with the Middle World with the Spirit of the Penguins and another group with the Lower World the Sea Lions.  I was placed in the group that was connecting with the Sea Lions.

We All went into a speed boat to the Calendro and than onwards to the area of the National Reserve Islands.

Meaning of Sea Lions as a Spirit Animal – Lower World.

Seal’s medicine includes protection during change, dreaming and lucid dreaming, imagination, creativity, protection from danger, movement through emotions, the inner voice

Celtic beliefs imply the human connection to animals is literal. It is believed that animals have the power to change into human form, and that entire clans are descended from the union of these animal people and humans. Dogs, wolves and cats are some of these animals, and one of the most common associations is with seal-people (selchies).Whether one believes this to be literally true or not, this is a powerful suggestion that we are more closely linked to the animals than we may think, and may inspire us to look into these connections in more depth.

Seals spend much of their lives in the sea, but they give birth on land. This shows us that there are 2 necessary things that help fulfil our dreams and visions. These are formed deep within us, and are nurtured through the power of our ability to envision them using all our senses. They are most easily made ‘real’ by us when we implement practical and material acts. a lot of the time when us humans are ‘creating’ something, the feeling side of things is absent.

During the mating season, males can partake in extremely savage battles one minute and be playful and amusing the next. Seals have the agility to move from anger to complete calm.

Seals are (obviously) sea mammals, and are highly symbolic of our feeling, sensual selves. The seal helps us to remember our connection to our deep inner rhythms, feelings, and knowing, as represented by the sea. As humans generally believe themselves to be apart from ‘animals’, when really we are a-part of them, we often fight giving in to these deep rhythms and are afraid of ‘losing’ what we consider to be ourselves. When we are afraid of drowning in these depths, Seal being a good swimmer and knowing how to flow with the ever changing current, reminds us how to swim with the current. When we do this the negative feelings we have created such as worry, fear and anxiety are released from our minds. If seal enters your life, you are being asked to review the ebb and flow of your thoughts and emotions and find and keep up a point of balance.

Water is a creative element and symbolises the feminine imagination and intuition. If the seal appears in your life, pay close attention to your imagination and insight – in the waking state and in dreamtime. A lot of what you imagine generally has a strong basis in reality, no matter how far-off it may seem. People with seal as a power animal are generally highly imaginative and very creative. They will need activities that channel and direct this. The Seal/Sea Lion can show you how to develop and focus your imagination.

Rather than having external ears, seals have small openings. This shows their deep affinity with their inner voice, and can show you how to listen to your inner self, balance your life to it. Your dreams will become more vivid and significant.

Seals swim both below and above water, giving them the ability to experience both the inner and outer worlds.

They teach those with this totem how to flow, how to hear, and how to discover the deeper mysteries of their true nature. Seals are keepers of wisdom. They reveal to us what is hidden deep within ourselves, and teach us how to integrate our imagination with the reasoning power of the intellect. This will give balance and harmony on all levels.

The seal which is so sleek and gorgeous in the water, teaches us how to feel at home in our bodies, and to uncover our inner beauty.

Meaning of Humbolt Penguins as a Spirit Animal – Middle World.

If Penguin has swam across your path;

He or she is reminding you that although things may seem chaotic right now there is a definite order in this chaos. Know that by continually moving forward with your plans and dreams and handling each small piece as it comes to you – you will see the light at the end of the tunnel. It is usually the most chaotic just before a big breakthrough happens.

Alternatively know that you have the ability to adapt to any situation brought to you at this time. Keep flexible and remain centered within yourself and keep moving forward. Know that you have a good connection between the physical and the spiritual and that you will simply know what is expected from you.

If Penguin is your Animal Totem;

You have the ability to create anything and everything you choose in life. You understand the concept of teamwork and utilize it constantly in order to get what you want. You know exactly where you are going and what you are trying to accomplish at all times. You move easily between the physical and spiritual realms and often have a gift for Lucid Dreaming. You are polite, proper and never forget your manners. You enjoy cultural exchanges and high societal affair. Many of you are diplomats and politicians.

In the beginning it was difficult to spot the Penguins on the Islands but by the open space of returning many of them were spotted on the cliffs. It gave a surge of the lightness of amusement and joy.

Meaning of Birds as a Spirit Animal – Upper World.

If Heron has come wading across your path;

It is time to look deeper into aspects of your life that will bring out innate wisdom and show you how to become self-reliant. Are you grounding yourself regularly? Heron teaches that grounding yourself in the earth and your spiritual beliefs will help you discover emotional insights more clearly and more quickly.

Alternatively he could be teaching you how how to become comfortable in uncertain situations and to be watchful of opportunities to arise so that you can quickly grasp them and move on.

If Heron is your Animal Totem;

You love to explore various activities and dimensions of Earth life. On the surface, this may seem like a form of dabbling, but more than likely you are wonderfully successful at being a traditional ‘Jack of all trades’.

This ability enables you to follow their own path. Most people will never quite understand the way you live because on the surface it seems to be unstructured without stability or security to it. It is, though, just a matter of perspective. There is security underneath it all, for it gives you the ability to do a variety of tasks. If one way does not work, then another will. This is something you seem to inherently know.

You do not seem to need a lot of people in your life, nor do you feel pressured to keep up with the material world, or to be traditional in your  life roles. You stand out in your uniqueness, and you know how to snatch and take advantage of things and events that the average person would not even bother with.

If Seagull has flown across your path;

It’s time to take a different perspective on things. Take a moment and step back from everything that you are currently dealing with and look at it from a different angle. Your solution lies in changing your attitude towards the problem at hand. Soar above the drama and look through your own emotional boundaries so that you can find creative new ways to move forward. There is a clue in using the long hidden resources you already have.

Alternatively Seagull is reminding you that everything has a purpose and that there are currently many things in your life that need to be redefined and reassigned. Take a moment to sort through the clutter and let go of that which you can no longer use.

There is always opportunity in everything and it can be found in the most unlikely places. Things may seem a little barren and unproductive right now, however even the most unlikely places can bear an opportunity for your new resources. The point is to realize that you are in this place and time for a reason. Remain optimistic and know that this reason will be revealed. Trust your instincts and follow through.

If Seagull is your Animal Totem;

You know an opportunity when you see one and stick with it until it has been fulfilled. You also have a knack for turning the most unlikely things to your advantage. You are also very productive and creative in using limited resources to their full advantage. With Seagull as your totem, you love to congregate in large crowds and have no trouble defining your space in communal situations. You are fearless and will often look people in the eye and challenge them to find a better way to resolve issues. Your ingenuity is constantly apparent to others and you are always willing to challenge your own comfort zone. You have a healthy respect for others but they must earn your respect.

Many birds flew over especially in the beginning of the boat ride. They flew in various formations across the sky and very close over our heads.

After this we had a lovely vegetarian lunch at the docks of Ballestas islands.

We than left by bus to Visit the Tambo Colarodes Ancient Site area. Many accident occurred along the way to this Ancient Site including a car accident, a pole that blocked the road and a bird was hit by the bus along the way. These were signs and signals for the group. Arthur decided to do a Arthurian Tarot layout for the group before we entered the premises. Upon entering in the main entrance I felt a strange vibration that touched my heart area. When the guide explained about this it was that woman were offered here to the Gods. We all entered here to face this challenge through the various areas and afterwards walked around the area. In the museum the guide was able to relate the Ancient History of the Inca’s.

After this we returned to the Hotel Emancipador in Pisco. For a well deserved dinner and good night sleep.

Ballestas Islands

The Ballestas Islands are a group of small islands near the town of Paracas located within the Paracas District of the Pisco Province in the Ica Regio, on the south coast of Peru. Composed largely of rock formations and covering an estimated area of 0.12 km², these islands are an important sanctuary for marine fauna like the guanay guano bird, the blue footed booby and the tendril. Other notable species include Humboldt penguins and two varieties of seals (fur seal and sea lions), amongst other mammals.

Ballestas Island.5 Sea Lions

These islands are accessible from the resort town of Paracas (near Pisco) by tour boat which typically lasts 2 hours. During the visits, it is not uncommon for the sea lions to approach the tourist boats and make spectacles for the visiting tourists. The sea lions are also responsible for a unique audio spectacle with their wolf-pack cries that echoes around the Ballestas and creates an effect of a 360-degree surrounding choir.

On the way to the islands, on the Paracas Peninsula, visitors will notice El Candelabro, a large-scale geoglyph that may have served as a beacon to mariners. The mystery as to the origins of this particular geoglyph is ongoing with much speculation. The visit to the Ballestas Islands is, from an ecotourism point of view, probably the best known along the Peruvian coast.

Tambo Colorado

The Tambo Colorado is a well-preserved Inca adobe complex near the coast of Peru, also known under the Quechua names Puka Tampu (“red resting place”), Pukallaqta (“red place”) or Pukawasi (“red house”).

The site is located just inland from the south coast of Perú in the Pisco River Valley about 40 km along the highway to Ayacucho known as the Via de los Libertadores, close to the town of Pisco.

The site was most likely built at the end of the 15th century during the reign of the Inca king Pachacuti Inca Yupanqui also known as Pachacutec, after the annexation of the merchant kingdom of Chincha.

Tambo Colorado.2

The site owes its name to the abundant use of colors on the walls. Thanks to favorable (very dry) environmental conditions, many walls at Tambo, both internal and external, retain enough residual colored paint to accurately reconstruct what the original wall painting would have been like. Color here was often applied in horizontal strips of red, black, white, and yellow ochre atop stucco, and variation in color would accentuate architectural features such as niches. Trapezoidal niches at Tambo have one or two recesses each, likely used for the placement of important objects. As with all Inca constructions, the overall dimensions of niche construction are standardized across the entire site.

Plan of Northern Palace, Tambo Colorado, cut from a Laser Scan. Data is derived from a CyArk/University of California research partnership

The site consists of several structures around a large central plaza. The central plaza is shaped like a trapezoid with its largest side being 150 m long. The main structures are grouped together in a northern part and a southern part (Sector Norte and Sector Sur). These structures are known as the Northern palace and the two Southern Palaces, flanked by an Ushnu (raised ceremonial platform) and a building known as the Utilities Structure.

The combination of Chincha and Inca architectural techniques can be seen in the place.

It is believed to have been used by the Incas as an administrative and control site on the main road from the coast to the highlands.

A small on-site museum is located near the entrance of the complex.

Gratitude Blessings to All.

June 5 – Daily review of the Journey within Peru

Be Welcome to connect and align.

Personal notes:

After breakfast and a talk with Arthur about the energy point in the hallway we met Patricia, the touring guide. We started the morning by gathering at the Vortex Point in the Hallway whilst Arthur laid the Arthurian Tarot Cards. After this I sprayed some Worldwide Essence for the start of the journey at this point.

Patricia was so kind to tell me the history of this Hotel.

The Gran Hotel Bolívar, is a historic hotel located on Plaza San Martin. Designed by noted Peruvian architect Rafael Marquina, it was built in 1924 (note the year via numerology – 2+4=6) and was the first large, modern hotel built in Lima. It was build on an Ancient Sacred Site of the Inca’s. During the opening ceremony many tribes attended.

Part of a program to modernize Lima, the hotel was constructed on what was state property. The hotel was inaugurated on December 6, 1924, in honor of the centenary of the Battle of Ayacucho, a decisive military encounter during the Peruvian War of Independence.

In the 1940s and 1950s, the hotel attracted Hollywood movie stars such as Orson Welles, Ava Gardner and John Wayne, where many also discovered the local cocktail, the Pisco Sour.

Entry Hall.Gran Hotel

Arthur and Pieter had left  to arrange some final details with the Travel Agency. The group went with Patricia for a walk through Lima Center. Patricia asked me personally to give her a sign of special energy areas during the walk. I had my crystal bag with me to leave crystals in various areas as a token of Gratitude.

We started the walk just across the Hotel. First we went to a statue of three Goddesses statue build in 1912 which was connected to the 3 numerology by the year that it was build.

The Plaza San Martín is one of the most representative  public spaces of the city of Lima, Peru. It is located at the ninth block of Colmena avenue, within the Historic Center of Lima which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1988 by UNESCO. It is located near the Plaza Mayor of Lima and is connected to it by the Jiron de la Union. Its central monument gives homage to Peru’s liberator,  Jose de San Martin. The square itself was inaugurated on July 27, 1921 (note the year via numerology – 2 + 1=3), in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Peru’s independence.

There are 8 entrances plus the center which correspond with the numerology of 9.

The plaza maintains uniformity with respect to its buildings’ facades. Its overall appearance is primarily baroque; the buildings, plaza, and central monument all cohere to uniform and specific styles. The architectural style to which most of the surrounding buildings belong to is that of the neohispanic or neocolonial styles within the realm of European derived architecture.

Here I noticed the prolonged Sacred Geometry together with the Chakana form in the plaza. Notice also the center which is the 13th, the journey to beyond.

After this we walked further in the center whilst Patricia explained various details along the way. There are many churches build on Ancient Inca Sites which drew me away from the group whilst giving a message to Patricia about this. One of them was a chapel devoted to Mother Mary and other Ladies. I placed a Mangano Crystal upon the altar of Lady Fortuna there.

I almost lost the group as they continued walking with Patricia. The next destination was San Pedro church were I went shortly inside.

San Pedro

We walked further to the next plaza which contained the City Hall, Jesus Christ Church and the Major’s office building. The plaza had a very feminine energy flow almost like you as being rocked in a cradle.

Known for its extensive history and past Andean cultures including the Chavin, the Incas and the Moche, Lima is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and brimming with glorious landmarks and ancient monuments. The city’s famous Basilica Cathedral is one of the most important landmarks standing today and it dominates the Plaza Mayor in the heart of downtown Lima.lima_plaza_armas4

The final destination was San Francisco of Assisi church where a ceremony would be done by one of the members of the group in the Museum. At the side of the Church two Ancient Rocks were still there signifying that it was build upon an Ancient Inca Sacred Site. One by one we felt the energy of this. Than we walked further and I was drawn to enter the San Francisco church and place a crystal there. I told one of the group members that I was entering there before I entered. Unfortunately the group did not enter the church and went straight to the monastery or museum. When I came out of the church I could not find the group again so I felt guided to return to the Hotel to later join up with the group again.

For everyone this was a confusing moment. My apologies for this. Later on I saw Carmen and Patricia walking away from the Hotel and I joined them to walk to the restaurant were we all had lunch and celebrated Dietlinde’s birthday.

We all returned to the Gran Hotel Bolivar to continue our journey to Pisco by bus.

Bus ride from Lima to Pisco.

Pisco is a Quecha word that means “bird.” The area is often visited because of the concentration of marine animals and birds at the Paracas National Reserve, or the Peruvian Galápagos. At the reserve, there are the Islas Ballestas, a collection of islands which are off limits to people, but boat tours can get close to. The Chincha Islands are also near its coast. Many bird species can be seen in the islands including pelicans, penguins, cormorant, Peruvian boobies and Inca terns, as well as sea lions, turtles, dolphins, and whales.

We will be staying overnight in Pisco.

Gratitude blessings to All.

The Magical Playfulness of Insight – Planetary Moon of Manifestation

The Magical Playfulness of Insight

Planetary Dog Moon

Tuesday, April 4 through Monday, May 1

Core: Production, Perfection, Manifestation

General Information:

Full Moon on April 10 = Red Solar Earth guided by Red Spectral Skywalker

Galactic Return of the Year on April 12 = Blue Spectral Storm.

New Moon on April 26 = Red Crystal Skywalker guided by Red Crystal Serpent.

This is the open space where you wish to reflect upon during these 28 days and nights. During this Moon, you will have reached your goal or set goal and give it a form on the grace of Planet Earth. Just like the 9 months of pregnancy is the presence of Now the resonance of giving birth to what you have carried and felt during that open space. It shall not only be something or nothing that has been flowing through your thoughts and feeling but now you can truly touch it and produce it. It will now be your reality on Planet Earth. Therefore, this is called the Planetary Moon of Manifestation. However, before you are in this presence it is wise to vibrate and carry your intention and considerations from the last nine months. Maybe you wish to change something. Be in perfection before you manifest.

Dog is the tenth galactic signature and this is the tenth Moon. Across the whole world and with all cultures the dog appears in myths and story telling. Most often the dog is on the boundary of the seen and unseen world. It guards the portal or passageway of the underworld or guides the just passed over soul to the other realms. In the Aztecs mythology Xoloitzguintle leads (dog of Xolotl) the dead to the underworld. The Mayans saw an enormous dog standing in the heavens, who embraced the stars Aries and Taurus. Its tail reached out to Cetus (Whale). The Mayans called this dog “Peck”.

Be Perfection before you manifest.

The keywords for dog is love and loyalty in all relationships. During this Moon, you are being asked to perform deeds or services from the Pure Heart of Love Light. Otherwise your action will miss its goal and no one will have any pleasure or joy from this.

Is this truly what you have aimed for as a goal or mission?

Does it give you pleasure, joy and the satisfaction within or do you need to adjust more to the perfection?

Or do you need to release or let go off that all should be perfect before you manifest?

Because desire for perfection can undetected stand in the way for the zest of life.

Dog is a good guide, that is why it is serves well as a guide dog for the blind. If you are afraid that you have lost part of your way, then call upon the power of the dog to assist you. By the Aztec it was a tradition to use a dog as an offer and bury it with the dead, as a guide through the underworld.

Dog is a good guardian; also during our sleep or dreamtime it listens to every sound and it will defend its territory for any intruders. This month you are being asked about your boundaries of your own territory.

Question: Are there any intruders, who need to be barked at or growled at?

To be true to yourself is what is being asked for, an example is to give a clear sign to the other person or situation.

The mission or theme of the Planetary Dog Moon
