Totem Animal: Monkey

General Information:

The Mayans made a distinction between the monkeys of the animal kingdom and supernatural Monkey God “Hun Chuen”, that brought the script to people. The animal monkeys remind the Mayans of a period that they might prefer to forget. Here is the creation story from the “Popol Vuh,” the sacred book of the Mayans.

“After Earth was created and after all plants and animals were created, the gods wanted to make creatures that could worship and honor them. They made mankind of earth material. But the earth was soft and fell apart when it was wet. With care Creator cut a design form sculpture from wood. It seemed like real people and they populated the Earth. They had sons and daughters, but they had no soul and no intelligence. They walked on hands and feet but where aimlessly. They had responsibility for the animals, but treated them badly. They were also disrespectful towards their surroundings.

Than came the large and small animals, pots and pans, all the furniture, and they rebelled against the people of wood. And the gods saw that the people of wood also did not remembered their Creators. Therefore, the Heart of Heaven caused a flood that swallowed all the people of wood. The people of wood ran in all kind of directions. They tried to climb on roofs, but the houses collapsed. They sought refuge in trees, but the trees shook them off. They fled into caves, but the caves closed themselves automatically. Several managed to flee into the mountains, where they still live like monkeys. ”

It is the Moon for inspiration! The monkey as a positive flow is the happy clown, who always enjoys games. It is the Inner Child, free from negative experiences, who allows energy to flow in whatever comes forward in a playful adventure. The Monkey was the one who brought writing and literature to the people. You see the monkey on old images and graphics or reliefs. The Monkey bends forward over a jaguar skin bonded book of the codex, with a pen in its hand.

Tone 7

Monkey reminds us to align or attune to the world that surrounds us and to be an open channel for this. 7 is in between Tone 1 and Tone 13. Tone 7 represents our spine, the only joint that is in the center of our body. Therefore, it is a channel or tube free of polarity. It is neither right nor left, not in the past, nor in the future it is in the presence of Now.

To do tips: allow the energy to flow from the top to the bottom and back again in the same flow. Attune and merge! Be in Spirit and receive inspiration.
